mechanical testing
Durability of our products is very important to us. We have developed various in-house mechanical strength testing methods, involving drop tests, fatigue, and functionality tests, repeated hundreds of times. Once we find a weak spot, we redesign the model and test it again, until we are certain that the part is strong enough.

1. are 3d printed parts weak?
3D printed parts are tricky - they can be both fragile and tough, everything depends on the way they were designed, printed, and what materials were used. Having years of experience in 3D printing, we know how to make them durable. Our parts have rounded corners, proper build plate orientation, increased amount of perimeters. Sometimes, we even add internal holes to change the line directions during printing, to make the part stronger in particular areas.

2. how to make silicone stronger
To properly mimic human tissue, silicone needs to be very soft, but that also makes it easy to damage. Fortunately, there are ways to make it stronger. We use different types of fabrics to reinforce the weaker spots and only use the highest quality materials. You will find 'power meshes' in every product we make - in the lung attachment areas, in the corners of the mouth in the airway management trainer, in the epiglottis, in silicone stands, in cric skins, and many more.
